NORBERT

The first ambient vital sign scanner.

The Norbert device is the first ever contactless health sensor that can scan temperature and other core vitals in an instant. Effortless, real-time, continuous monitoring of patient vitals can automate the check-in process and even lower the risk of accidents in non-ICU rooms between staff checks.

10XBETA collaborated with Norbert Health to create prototypes and design concepts for their first iterations. The Norbert team then developed their ambient vital sign monitor further, to a device that is currently accepting applications for their pilot-testing.

Deliverables:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Rapid Prototyping

  • Design for Manufacture

  • Packaging design

  • Industrial Design

  • Software Engineering

  • Electrical Engineering

For the beta version, the 10X team developed solutions for:

  • Conceptual design

  • Enclosure prototype design and development

  • Jetson Nano, camera, mmWave, wifi antennas and audio integration

  • Thermal development and heatsink design

  • Thermal testing

10X also supported manufacturing efforts with:

  • Prototype release - PCB sample production

  • Electronics development and integration, board layout design

  • Software bring up

  • Prototype production with Sunpe - Vacuum casting and CNC machining

  • Bill of materials

  • Pre-production assembly work instructions

  • Costing and planning for injection molding

Designed for a multitude of use cases.

Beyond check-in scans in healthcare settings, Norbert can monitor vitals during inpatient stays, monitor at-home recovery or facilitate hospital-at-home treatments.

Norbert can measure vital signs from anyone within a 6 foot range, without any effort from the person being scanned. Unlike other solutions, Norbert also senses cardiac and respiratory data and can provide accurate and comprehensive health data.
